We are seeking a part-time Night Duty Manager to join the team at The Southcrest Manor Hotel, Redditch. This is a permanent contract working on average 28 hours per week, following a pattern of working 4 nights, then taking 4 night off. The pattern is continuous so you do not have set days of working per week. The holiday year runs from 1st April to 31st March, and your holiday entitlement is 20 days. Working hours are 11pm – 7.00am. Ideally applicants will be flexible to work a range of shifts and to cover holidays. Please note due to required night working applicants must be over 18.

Responsibilities:

The Night Manager is responsible for the smooth operation of the hotel overnight, managing the first impressions of our Guests and, therefore, must perform the following tasks to the highest standards:*

  • Guest Check-in and check-out.
  • Serve as a point of contact for regular and VIP Guests
  • Complete Night Audit duties
  • Promote hotel services and facilities
  • Clean public areas
  • Serve food and drink
  • Handling cash
  • Set, lay-up and clean rooms to company standards and guest requirements.
  • Overall security of persons and property.
  • Represent the Hotel Manager and other senior managers in their absence, taking full responsibility of the hotel
  • Manage, record and promptly resolve issues or emergencies that arise
  • Demonstrate current knowledge of hotel products, services, pricing and policies, as well as knowledge of the local area
  • Act in accordance with all security and emergency procedures and manage the instigation of these, as required
  • Compile adequate handover to Early staff / Duty Manager
  • Complete all specified shift tasks as per the Night Duty Manager checklist
  • Attend appropriate training courses, when required, and assist with the Night Team’s training and development efforts
  • Act in accordance with policies and procedures when working with front of house equipment and property management systems
  • Conduct Health and Safety Checks and Night Walks, and maintain a good status awareness of all hotel areas
  • Assist other departments, as necessary
